Congrats to My Roommate!!

"Seek not to declare my word, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall your tongue be loosed; then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men."

Yesterday, my roommate received exciting news! She is going to serve a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She received her call to serve in Spain. I am so excited for her. This is a great opportunity for her and also yesterday her older sister got home from serving her mission in Germany. I think that it is so exciting that her sister got to come home and be there to see her little sister open her mission call. I know that She will do great and will serve the Lord with all her might, mind, and strength, and endure to the end. I am so thankful that I was able to be there. I had a fun time with her family.

Part of me wonders where I would go if I went on a Mission. I wish that I could know before, but that is not how it works. Which is fine. A mission is not for the faint hearted. Even if I don't serve an official mission, I know that everyday I can have missionary opportunities. Like, yesterday my roommate's Grandpa asked me when I was going to get my call. I replied that I am on call every day. And it is true. Everyone was impressed with my reply.

I am going to miss rooming with her. She is great and puts up with my weird quirks. We had planned on taking five classes together, but she wont be able to take them now. It will be just me. I am a little bummed about that. I was excited to take these classes with her, but I will get over being bummed. I know that I can do it, because I have done it before, so it is nothing new.

Well that is all the exciting news for now.

My Summer Has Just Begun!!

"We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right."
                                                             ~ Nelson Mandela

SO now that I am done with my first year of College, I feel great. Ready for my break that is for sure. I am spending it here with four of my roommates from the Spring semester. One is actually leaving tomorrow to go home, but will be back for the Fall semester, so that is okay. I will miss her while she is gone. Thankfully I will have the other two, or my life would be so boring.

So this last weekend. I went and floated the Warm River. It was fun, but the name is deceiving. It was freezing water! Especially when you had to sit in the water. Wow! It was so much fun! I put sunblock on before I got in the water. I have this one awkward sunburn on my thigh. It is just a little strip. It is pretty funny to see it. Then after that we went and got shakes. It was good. Oreo's are fantastic!! I just have to say that. I wish that I could eat Mint Oreo's all day, but I can't. Then when we got home, we got invited to go hang out with friends and when I say that I mean I only knew one person, besides my roommate. Everyone else seemed really nice though. We played games. We played Uno and Five Crowns (I think that is what it was called.). I won the first round of Five Crowns and at least a game of Uno. I got teased as well, the Stinker.

The next day was church and it was early and by that I mean at Ten in the morning. So I woke up an hour and half before church started. I didn't get to eat breakfast (sadness), so my stomach started growling really loud. Embarrassing! It was a lot fuller than I thought that it was going to be. So now I have to meet new people. Fun (I mean that for real and sarcastically).

Then Monday, I got to sleep in till nine. It was great! It makes me so happy!! It was an good day. That night we got invited to a friend's house. We played volley ball, and then Around the World Ping Pong, then we ate Raspberry shakes, and then played Murder in the Dark with creep music. It was creepy, but a fun game. After that we had to go. But it was a fun day.

Then today at an unreasonable time (it was nine o'clock in the morning by the way) I got woken up by a text. I got invited to go and play games in the park as well. So I was like, well I am up now so I might as well go, because I am not going to fall back to sleep. So I got up and got ready and studied Preach my Gospel. Then I left. I was a little nervous to go by myself, because my roommate who is the guy's friend was still sleeping and I didn't know if she would be okay with me going and hanging out with her friend. But I went and had a blast! I was with them for six and a half hours. Playing all kind of games, like ultimate Frisbee and a soccer like game (I have learned so many new games in the last few days), and now my poor body is going pay. I never knew that I had all these muscles. I got so hot and sweaty that I could smell myself and I felt bad for those around me. Then I got all clean and felt better. Now I am not so repulsive to myself and others. I am glad that I went. I made some new friends. It was a great day!

Well it is way past my bed time, but lets be honest I will be up even later after this post. Have a good night. Until my next post.

Done with My First Year of College

"Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come."
                                                                              Doctrine and Covenants 130:18-19

Well I am officially done with my first year of college. It is so nice! I can now relax for a month until I begin my Sophomore year. I hope I did well on all my finals and that I get good grades. I already miss my roommates who have left. But they all got home safely, so that is great.

Now I can watch as many movies as I want! Maybe sleep in...sigh in bliss. I can't wait to get sleep. Spend more time with the remaining roommates. Lay listly on the couch. Eat all day. Oh and READ! all day. That would be so great. Of course I will be doing this around my job if I can get one. I hope I can. Oh yesterday, I got a Library card!! It was so exciting!!

Anyways that is my life as of now. Endless possibilities!

This Crazy, Fun Week!

"Just imagine the reversal that would take place if full integrity were to rule in family life. Homes would abound in love, children and parents would have respect for one another, and children would be reared in righteousness through parental example- the greatest teacher of all time."
                                                                                                             -N. Eldon Tanner

I have had a blast this week! I mean it is really hot and they don't have AC in the apartments, because it is not life and death out here like it is back home. So it has been a little uncomfortable. So my roommates on Tuesday decided to go night swimming at like 9pm. I had just woken up from a brief nap and the invited me to go. I was super pumped because I have never been night swimming. So we got ready and invited people. There were eight girls and only two boys. Not really even, but oh well. The water in the beginning felt really cold and took awhile to get use too. After you went under it got a ton better. It was a beautiful night. The sky was clear and the stars were shining and the people were fun. It was just our group there this night. There was a waterfall with enough room to go under it and be between the water and the rocks. I could see it being a romantic place. We played the chicken fighting game in the water and just swam around until people were started to get dunked. I am just going to be prideful when I say this, it took three people to take me down and it was only because they all ganged up on me. At the end of our adventure of night swimming we were taking pictures. After the pictures, I got dragged back into the water and ended up tripping on the rocks. It didn't hurt at all, so breath easy. It was a great day.

Then the next day was hot and I was laying listlessly on the couch "trying" to do homework. I am just saying that, because I had the book that I was going to read, but wasn't really reading. I know I am a sinner, because I have finals real soon and so much homework to do, but I just can't really muster the will to do it. Oh well. Well anyway that night we went night swimming again. There was another group there before we got there and more coming. So it was a little crowded, but we met new people. The water was freezing. I don't know why, but it was and there was a lot of foam on top of the water. At first glance I thought that someone had dumped bubble solution into the waterfall. The people that we met there, funny enough they were going to McDonald's as well and we ran into them there and talked for awhile. Then we went home. I couldn't sleep that night as well, because earlier and I mean around four something I fell asleep and someone, I don't know who, was tapping and they wouldn't stop for like an hour and a half. I had fallen asleep, but got woken up and couldn't go back to sleep. I saw a light on and came out here to check who it was. One of my roommates is sick and couldn't sleep either. She was up and we talked for a little bit, before we both went back to bed. I was out like a light after that, because the person who was tapping stopped. It was a glorious moment!

School is winding down. It is almost summer time! I am ready for summer and no homework. It is only sad that it is for a month and then I am back to school. OH well. The price I pay for an education. Finals are in two weeks. I hope that I can do my best and get good grades for the semester.

Other news, my cousin who is going on a mission to Arizona is in the MTC. I didn't know it till this week. I wish that I had gotten the chance to say good-bye and good luck. I will miss him, but I know that what he is going to the Lord's work and I am so very happy that he is doing so. Tomorrow is my littlest sisters birthday and when I talked to her earlier, she was really upset that I wants going to be there for her birthday. But I hope that she stills has a great time.

Well that is really all that is going on in my life as of now. I will keep you posted on any developments.
